I'm aware that there other threads along the same lines, but none of the solutions work for me...

I don't have razer software. I tried forcing the graphics commands open GL and direct 3D. to no avail.

Factorio through Steam works up to and including 14.22.

I get the usual steam popup for a brief moment, and it shows that I'm, running the game (on steam) for approx 5 seconds, but then nothing. I don't have any logs to show as It isn't running the game. Sorry that I can't be of more help.

The only way I managed to play 15.3 was to register on the Factorio website, link my steam account and download the game. It then runs perfectly (so far )
But try as I might, I cannot get the steam version to run. Run as administrator doesnt change anything.

I thought as a last chance for Steam I'd try the Windows 10 Program compatibility settings Troubleshooter on the factorio.exe file (in my steamapps/common/Factorio/bin/x64/ folder) and although the game won't run in Win 8 compatibility. it WILL run under the Windows Vista (Service Pack 2) Account control (as an administrator). I have currently saved these settings and now Factorio 15.3 will run every time.

I hope this helps you isolate whatever the issue is.

Hi can, you download AppCrashView from its homepage? http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/app_crash_view.html
Run it, find the record of the latest Factorio.exe crash, right-click on it and select Open Report File Folder. It should open file explorer with Report.wer, post here content of that file. (Or you can copy&paste it from bottom half of the AppCrashView)

Here you go.. It was the last crash before the changes made above. Hope it helps

You are running Comodo Antivirus / Internet Security which sometimes causes problems with Factorio. There should be an option somewhere to add an exception ("Exclusion") for Factorio.
