mod settings changed in-game only saved when exiting menu

While playing, ESC -> OPTIONS -> MODS, change a mod setting, click BACK, click MODS again. The setting you changed will have reverted. This also happens if you go back out to the top level menu and then back into OPTIONS then MODS. You have to RESUME to get the changes to stick. This is non-intuitive and probably a bug.

It's a side effect of how it has to work for it to support multiplayer.

I recognize why you can't actually apply the changes to the game state until the menu is closed.
Maybe you could just separately have the menu system keep track of changes being made in it, so they are re-displayed when the user navigates back to that screen?
