I was installing some mods and restarted the game. One mod failed to load so I disabled it and restarted again. Upon restarting I was prompted for username/password despite that I had already been using them.

• Factorio 0.15.2
• Windows 10
• No antivirus other than windows defender
• Installed directly from the website so steam cloud sync can't be a factor
• player-data.json contains plenty of other information so it wasn't simply deleted.

I've seen 5 or 10 instances of people complaining about factorio losing their login but I was only able to find one report: viewtopic.php?f=11&t=30251&p=191175

Edit: Mods are rso-mod, angelsinfiniteores, auto-research, bullet-trails, More signal color, More_Floors, nixie-tubes, GDIW. Failing mod is More_Floors. The bug is repeatable: every time I toggle on More_Floors and restart, then tell the game to disable it, it loses my login details.

I can confirm this. Happened to me as well last night after installing More_Floors!

Config settings weren't reset so like OP said only the factorio credentials were lost.

Does it still occur in 0.15

Since upgrading to 0.15, I've been getting this error pretty much constantly.

Basically... Install a mod (or in my case edit a mod) that causes a "Disable this mod to continue" error, and when you restart the game, there's a very good chance that the game forgets your log in details.

I wasn't able to reproduce this, but I found a possible culprit, so we'll see in the next version. If you find a way to reproduce this, I would appreciate it. I tried breaking mods so the game switches into minimal mode, where the bug should be happening, but it didn't. It probably needs to be broken in a specific way.
