"There are still a hundred minor features I could talk about in these FFF posts, but this close to release, I would rather not spoil the surprise. "
I'm drooling already!

About those little details you mentioned... We will get a full changelog of all changes for 0.15.0? Anyways, the shader for the nightvision is looking really nice. What do the little symbols under the tutorials mean?

That's great. So we can expect an experimental release this weekend
I would love to play 0.15 this weekend even if it has some gameplay bugs.

Nightvision now looks really good and I'll bother with it in 0.15 again, because it just look awfull in the past.

As stated in the FFF #183:
When we are ready to make a release, it will be either on a Monday or a Tuesday, to give ourselves some long working days to bugfix while the reports are fresh.

How does the alt-info work with the map vision, and how does it work in night vision/shaders?

Research/Technology required to support the tutorial concept?

I wish we could try the new 0.15 as it is right now (bugs and all). I mean that's why we have the experimental build option right?

Nice to hear you guys are having fun!
Two questions, though -
1. Who's Denis?
2. Will the shaders be optional? Some of us use pretty crappy on-board GPUs, which I'm afraid won't be up for the task

FF#183 "we want at least a week of playtesting before considering the experimental release"
FF#185 "Internal playtesting kicked off early this week"
Sounds promising.

Hi
You mentioned the GPU
Is there a way to offload some of the CPU work to the GPU?
Or is it not practical/beneficial in Factorio?
https://www.centerspace.net/offloading- ... o-your-gpu
Thank you

This falls into the same category as multi-threading, while it can provide benefits it introduces massive complexity, which is bad when trying to minimize bugs.

I will only say, I am INCREDIBLY happy with the way that night vision looks. The colorless but still visible look is absolutely beautiful.
