How about we add a button wich can make you drive straight if you press or hold the button?
the nicest thing would be that you drive straight from the moment your press it in the direction you are driving going from horizontal, vertical and cross pretty much like how you can lay rails.
It would be nice to drive this for longer tracks next to a rail or perhaps trough your own base if you have build roads.

But if the car is controlled like your dude, wouldnt that work?

It would be nice if cars were a bit easier to control.. At least at slow speeds.
