Hi. My English is very limited. Sorry for that. I bought the game yesterday but I have exact same problem with soaked. When I try to launch the game, an error report says;

"Unexpected error occurred. If you're running the latest version of the game you can help us solve the problem by posting the contents of the log file on the Factorio forums.
Please also include the save file(s), any mods you may be using, and any steps you know of to reproduce the crash."

After the crash, "factorio-current.log" and "factorio-previous.log" files are created in the "C:\Users\Diverapo\AppData\Roaming\Factorio" folder. But both of them completely empty.

My OS: Win 7 x64
GTX970
8GB DDR2 RAM
AMD X2 6000+

List of I have already tried:

-All Windows and Nvidia updates
-Complete uninstall with Revo Uninstaller and reinstall over Steam with different directory.
-Verify integrity of game files.
-I have tried to other compability choices.
-Restarting the PC and Steam
-Uncheck the steam overlay option
-Set launch option to "--force-d3d" and "--force-opengl"

When I set launch option to "cmd /k %command%" it gives me an error;

"0.000 Initializing Steam API.
0.000 Error Util.cpp:77:" and continue with;

"Unexpected error occurred. If you're running the latest version of the game you can help us solve the problem by posting the contents of the log file on the Factorio forums.
Please also include the save file(s), any mods you may be using, and any steps you know of to reproduce the crash."

There is no config folder in "%appdata%\Factorio" or in installed directory. So there is no config.ini file. Only empty log files in the appdata.

Please help. I want to play this game.

Hi, your description (log file is created, but empty) resembles issue 38739

Search your C:\Windows\System32 folder for api-ms-win-core-sysinfo-l1-2-1.dll, if it exists, back it up and delete it from System32. It is Windows 8 DLL that should not exists on your system.
If you find different version of api-ms-win-core-sysinfo (for example 1-1-0 or 1-1-1) don't delete those, those versions are intended for Windows 7.

Oh my.. You are a helper. Thank you very much. Yes, my system32 folder has "api-ms-win-core-sysinfo-l1-2-1.dll" file. I have cut it out to my desktop and it works. Thank you, thank you very much.
