[0.14.22] Gates do not get replaced by wall on a thick wall

I have a wall two tiles thick and made a two-thick gate through it. Then I tried replacing it with wall but only one side gets replaced, the other gates that are touching wall on more than two sides (not north south or east west but on a corner or more sides) refuses to become wall. I tested replacing just a two by two of gate with wall and it doesn't work, only ever two gates get replaced.

I can confirm the same happening, but only situational - sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt, can't find a stable way to reproduce it.
