Hello,

My friend is hosting a private server just for us two, on his own pc.
I'm purchasing a VPS to get access 24/7, but how do I transfer the entire savegame and server settings to my new VPS ?
Any help would be highly appreciated.

PS: The VPS will be Linux

save is stored in saves folder (it's zip archive), and config wherever you set it, so copy those two files to appropriate location on your new server

keep in mind, that server needs to run same or newer version of factorio, also if you use mods, don't forget to copy over mods folder.
