I am playing Factorio with my laptop(Win10-64 bit,NVIDIA GTX960M). The game is played without any mods. Very often the FPS/UPS drop during the game. Images below are my screenshot with debug F5 turned on.
Could you please help to let me know whether this is graphic card issue or some known issues which will be fixed in future release? Please let me know if more debug information is required. I do note that the debug message in the screenshot look cluttered but I am unsure the reason for it.
Thank you for your time.

The game might run on integrated Intel GPU instead of on GTX960M (usually due to some power saving mode), if you post your factorio log I can tell you for sure if that is the case (located in %APPDATA%\Factorio\factorio-current.log)

Hi posila,
Thank you for the reply. Attached is the log file. Could you please help to take a look whether it is running with Intel GPU?
Thank you for your time.

Wow, very impressive laptop you have there. It should not have any trouble running the game on 60/60
The game runs on GTX, so that's not it.
Try to disable "Wait for v-sync" in the game graphics options, also set Video memory usage to "all" and Sprite resolution to "normal". Then exit the game and go to Factorio properties in Steam and set launch options to
No idea if this is the issue here, but generally having debug settings activated like the sound visualization and the pipe level can take a significant toll on performance.

Thanks posila and Loewchen for the reply. Let me try out the suggestions by posila and see any improvements or not. I will update again on the status. Thank you for your time.

I have tried out settings as suggested by posila. The FPS/UPS do still drop but not so as often as previously seen. I notice that the FPS/UPS drop always happens after autosave happens. After 1 to 2 minutes then it recovered. I had set nvidia preferred processor to "nvidia high performance processor" both in the global and also factorio program. Do let me know if you see some thing weird in the log file and the attached screenshot. Thank you for your time.

I found the issue. It seems like this drop in FPS happens when the laptop is on battery instead of plug in power. The drop in FPS/UPS does not happen when the power is plugged in even when autosave. So, this is my laptop settings on power management of both nvidia and windows10. Thank you for your time.
