I've been playing on some saves named after the version of Factorio I started the game on for tracking purposes (ex: "0.14.12 - 1") and they work fine on the machine I created them on but when I tried to load them on another computer they simply weren't there. Looking at the filesystem, the files were missing.

After this happened, I loaded up one of the problematic saves on the machine that I created them on and re-saved with the periods replaced by underscores. After quitting and starting up Factorio on another computer the new save showed up fine, so cloud sync is working in general, it's just saves with period in them that seem to not be synced over.

Factorio v0.14.21 (build 25327, mac, steam) on both machines

OSX 10.12.2 on one machine, OSX 10.11.6 on the other

i suspect it's problem of steam, not problem of game.

steam is syncing whatever folder path is set by devs. but there might be characters in save name, that might break syncing, for example my friend had such issue, when using national characters in save name.

I tested and steam correctly syncs saves with multiple periods in the filename without issues on my machine (Windows 7 x64 SP1). Which means it's not anything we're doing but some error on Steam side with the Mac version of Steam.

There's nothing I can do about it. You can try contacting them and filing a bug report.
