Greetings all

I hope you are all well, and I apologise if this is in the wrong spot or whatever, I'm new here and I need to get this out there.

Im using the Google Maps Factorio Style mod by jeroon, and have successfully taken a satisfactory screenshot with it. I located the html and images files within the Factorio Script-outputs folder. I can view the html file fine using google chrome, but now I need to save that image locally so I can share it. This is important as I actually need it for a project and I am not in any way, shape or form good at coding. I barely even know the basics. I have been searching for hours on how to get the map html and save it as a high quality image, similarly in other threads to do with this mod i see many people asking how to do exactly this, but they are outright ignored or dismissed with "use a hosting program". I cannot do this, I am not spending money to have this hosted, I just need it as an image file on my PC. Ive seen other things like using google static api or whatever and then programming some parameters into a URL, but I dont know how to get that to work for my currently locally hosted map.

Alternatively, is there a way to splice the hundreds of screenshots together as the html file does? I dont really care how, i just need to get it as an image. I have seen elsewhere on the forums people with high-quality HUGE screenshots similar to that of my localhost html file, but as actual images i can download (albeit they are large files). This is very frustrating as I know its possible but I cant figure it out. Countless hours of googling and experimenting have produced nothing at all.

I appreciate any and all help I can get, I love this game and this save is very special to me (46 hours, my first complete playthrough after my previous 60 hour first map was corrupted), and I need this image for a project for school (I need 50 hours of creative work done for the International Baccalaureate program, and I was going to put this as a good chunk of it - I have taken various screenshots of the map at different stages to make a chronological "timelapse" of how this world developed, and the problems/solutions that came along with it.) If anyone needs the individual screenshots taken from the Google maps mod, I can send them your way if necessary

Thanks ssilk! ill try this out when I can. Would it be able to take very large screenshots of high resolution, similar to the quality + size of the google maps mod? I was reading somewhere else on the forums about using the ingame screenshot console command (which i ended up trying myself, making some ridiculously long command which took ages for me to figure out how to get to work) and it ended up being very poor quality even though I set the resolution very high. I also read that beyond a certain size/resolution it will just crash the game and cannot take the screenshot because it exceeds some integer value or something.

Anyway, thanks for the suggestion, I'll give it a shot and let you know how it went ASAP.

The maximum size of the screenshot depends on your VRAM and to a lesser extent RAM. The maximum allowed resolution is 16384x16384, the maximum recommended resolution is 4096x4096. On my PC with 2GB VRAM and 16GB RAM the limit was 11776x11776. If you exceed the amount your graphics card can handle then the game crashes.
