Im running the latest 14.21

None of the progress bars have content (they are just black)
Im using Steam on Linux. Everything used to work. I can try and find which version? Ive set force-opengl to truein the options, but that had no effect. Also whenever I try to use steam startup options e.g. --force-opengl the game does not start.
Also on the save game screen the text when typing the save game name doesnt show

And I cannot get into vehicles it says something like "trying to enter ... with Unknown"

OpenGL is the only renderer available on Linux, so it's always used no matter what you set in the config or launch options.

First verify the Steam cache, if that doesn't help then try the following launch option: --max-texture-size=4096
Please also post your Log file and a screenshot if the problem persists.

For the vehicles issue, are you using any mods?

Since you're the only person that I know of to ever have either of these issues I believe the "no progress bars" is simply a driver issue on your end and the other issue is some mod you're using.

Ive set the texture size to 4096 and verified the steam cache. No changes. The progress bars do not show. I have played this game on this machine for many months. There was not this issue earlier. also I am using a lenovo and the drivers are fully open source on an open architecture

I am not using any mods, just "base".

Have you tried to verify game cache integrity in Steam?
Last Factorio update was released almost 2 months ago, if it worked with that update before, something else must have changed on your computer.

As for invisible progress bars, try to disable "Texture filtering for icons" in graphics options.
