What is the red X in the chests? The tooltip says "Limit the inventory part manipulated by machines"? Huh?

Have you tried to klick it while having a full chest?

You can use it to color slots of the chest red. Red slots are treated by inserters as forbidden slots and they won't access them.

Oooooh I see. Click the X and then select to which slot to prevent from being filled.
Now THAT should be explained somewhere properly. I have been making short belts to provide limits to production lines.

So, uhh you never clicked to see what it does?

Yeah I clicked it and the X turned red. I clicked it again and the X turned white.
I never thought to click it and then move the mouse to another box in the chest. Very non obvious...
