I've a setup that has an input for iron ore. Sometimes (due to mixed fields and because i wouldn't care) there are some stones between the iron ore. So the stones get fed into the electric furnace. But instead of smelting the stone to stone bricks the furnace doesn't do anything anymore... (neither smelting stone, nor inserting iron, it's just off)

You need two stones to make a stone brick. If you give your furnace (any furnace) a single stone, it will wait for a second one forever.
This is not a bug, you should filter your inputs, or create a smart furnace setup (search for smart furnace in the show your creations subforum).
