Starting a new game shows the first tooltip ("This is the Factorio freeplay. Your task is to launch...") and while the tooltip says <Left mouse button> to presumably click it away, like it has done in the past, no keypress on the mouse of keyboard removes that. Not using mods, can still bring up steam overlay, can still press ESC to bring up the menu, saving and reloading a game doesn't fix the issue, and I can't find anywhere that allows you to turn these messages off.

Upon further investigation, the opening dialogue boxes for the Campaign missions have this same effect.

Running the Steam Release, Version 0.14.20 (Build 25315, win64, Steam)

You must have changed the "Confirm message" key binding to use the left mouse button. It's tab by default. Just change it back and you can play again.

It probably shouldn't be possible to assign a mouse button here if it's not possible to actually confirm a message that way.

Sweet! That fixed the problem. It was bound to Left Mouse Button, but after changing that to something else that has resolved the problem! yay! Thank you.

Why is this filed as "resolved" already? Isn't it a bug that it's possible to assign a non-working key binding? Either prevent the assignment or fix the click to close functionality.
