Before anything can you tell me what happen ? Because I see no error in the log you provided. Did a message display ingame ? Maybe you provided the wrong log. More information will be better to see your problem solved.

Which error ? The DSound log have no error.

forget what I said about dsound. it also might be the wrong log, as it doesn't mention the error

Hi, I see. It crashes even before logging is initialized. That is why your log doesn't show any errors.

Could you please download Process Explorer https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sys ... lorer.aspx and use it to create minidump of Factorio process when it is frozen?
Just find Factorio process in Process Explorer, right click it, select Create Dump and then Create minidump. Save the .dmp file, zip it and upload it here, please.

Thanks ... it is crashing in steamclient64.dll. Do other Steam games start normally for you? Have you tried to reboot your computer? Can you try to download DRM-free version from http://www.factorio.com and see if it starts without Steam?

Also can you make full dump, please? I usualy ask for minidump, because of huge memory usage Factorio has, but since it crashes so early, full dump should be fairly small and could help more with invetigation.

I rebooted Pc and not affect, Maybe reinstall steam?
P.S. Demo is working...

If that is not too much trouble, I think it is worth a try.

Just in case we won't be able to figure it out. You can register on factorio.com, link your Steam account and you'll be able to download full non-Steam version.

I'll try to report it to Valve as it seems to be Steam error. In your minidumps you seem to have older version of Steam than I do (your steamclient64.dll has version 3.55.92.67, mine has 3.65.13.80). Can you confirm your Steam client is up-to-date now?

EDIT: I forgot ... can you go to Factorio properties in Steam and use "Verify integrity of game cache", just to make sure the executable was not corrupted during last update or something like that.

I returned the file to the place. How do I install a new version of the file? Full reinstall steam or is there another option?
