[0.14.20] Odd selection on load game screen

I tried to click on the "Map Exchange String" and did a missclick and suddenly I a different save selected.
Attached is a gif demonstrating the odd behavior.

Yes that's working as intended. You clicked the bottom of the list but there's no item at that point so it selects the closest one (the last one).

The intention is wrong then. UI standards are that clicking an empty space either does nothing or deselects the current item.

+1. And the offhand and lazy response from a dev about this not being a bug really shows how much they need a dedicated UI person. I suggest moving this back to Bug Report or a category where other GUI bugs are located.
By definition it is not a bug. The UI code was written to act exactly as it's doing now and it's doing that. If it was written to do something else and was doing this then it would be a bug.
You can make suggestions in the Ideas and suggestions forum about changing it if you like.

The described behavior is totally sane and I like it.
If the developers programmed it to jump to the last entry it's no bug.
If it had crashed instead it would be a bug.
It's just not working as YOU would like it.
You can make a suggestion in the suggestions board.

The problem with the explanation is that it isn't correct.
As you can see at the start of the GIF I'm clicking around but it isn't selecting the last save.
So it still isn't consistent behavior and thus does not comply with expected behavior of "selecting the closest save"
So this should instead be moved back to bug reports because it doesn't always select the closest save.
Though I still think that it is the wrong behavior for a list

Is this thread being censored or is self-same-spot censoring himself?
Whatever the case this is still a bug because clicking below the last item on the list doesn't always select the last item on the list as described by RSeding
