Looks like rail curves aren't counted properly for the missing material alert.

Curved rails take 4 normal rails to build. They don't have a specific "curved rail" item anymore. So, yes they are counted in that tooltip.

Point is, there's a discrepancy between the number of rails on the rail icon and the number of missing objects in the dialog.

I counted and got 98. What number do you think its should be?

Exactly, that's twice as much as the "45 objects missing materials" indicates.

The 'object' is a single curved rail, which needs 4 'rail' to build, so it is correct.
For instance if you place a single curved rail, it is only 1 object, but it requires 4 rail to build
So the tooltip correctly show that 1 object is missing 4 rail to build

Gotchya, There are 44 rail entities that need to be placed, those will take 98 rail items to make.

I guess that would explain it. I guess not a bug, but still confusing
