Large map and autosave crashes

I'm running a headless windows Factorio game on PingPerfect. We've got an 85MB save file (explored like crazy, realised the map gen had gone wrong, stuck with enormous map) with a fair number of mods. Twice now it's crashed trying to do an autosave with this in the logs
I raised a ticket with PingPerfect and they reckon it's Factorio. If you are interested, I will collect all the relevant details the next time it happens. If not we'll just live with it.
