Hi,

I am trying to play the demo but it won't launch. I have tried from steam and from the download on your website and get the same error on both. I am running Windows 10 fully updated, I also found this post by someone having the same issue:

The following files appear to be missing from the demo, the whole folders are not present:
Factorio\data\base\graphics\entity\gate\wall-diode-green.png
Factorio\data\base\graphics\entity\gate\wall-diode-red.png
Factorio\data\base\graphics\entity\shell-particle\shell-particle-1.png
Factorio\data\base\graphics\entity\shell-particle\shell-particle-2.png
Factorio\data\base\graphics\entity\shell-particle\shell-particle-shadow-1.png
Factorio\data\base\graphics\entity\shell-particle\shell-particle-shadow-2.png

Can someone please provide a fixed demo or these missing file?

I have attached an archive containing the missing files, extract them to data\base\graphics\entity.

The missing files stopped the initial error thank you, however it seems that they still fail some form of validation (image size?), please see the attached screenshot.

Similar problem here. I wasn't able to launch the game any more immediately after the latest update (0.13.19, today). Luckily I found this thread and was able to get the game running by downloading the ZIP provided by Daniel34 with the missing files folder (thank you).

I'm testing it now: it seems to be working properly.

However, you might want to look into the updating process, since the Demo was running perfectly before the latest update...

I've still not managed to get it to work as per my last post, I did get the old demo to work though so been playing that and am going to buy the game now!

@ rootEth: did you have to roll back to a previous version to get it to work?

I used the 0.12.35 demo from https://www.factorio.com/demo

That's odd. However, I can confirm that the latest Steam version (0.13.19) now works perfectly, thanks to the files provided by Daniel34.

I think I'm going to buy the full version soon!
