Finally got around to researching the rocket silo in my kilobase and got a little production of rocket materials set up. Before long, I had myself a rocket, and then got a Satellite made and voila: I will work on scaling that up as well establishing my first barrel-train operated oil outpost as my main oil is now starting to run out; already setup of the rail network and am making barrels, just need to set up pumps and get the barrel train moving; but I hesitate because the throughput will be ludicrous at first, and I don't really want to end up vastly over-producing barrels because of it.
