Playing version 0.13.8 (build 23239 win32, alpha)

While playing, I am unable to access recipe menus in any crafting building (chemical plant, oil refinery, assembly machines, etc) I simply get a dialog box which says "choose recipe for assembly" and has a search symbol, which has a pop up if I hover over that says "search - control + F to focus" and clicking on this opens a blank field, but nothing I type in the field yields any results.

Are you using any mods by change? Do you have the factorio-current.log file you could post?

it occurs to me that the oil processing plant which I placed had not been researched...I think this might be the problem.
