Is bitter pathing always been so broken when aggroing tons?

So I been screwing around with friends trolling around. I ran around a massive lake and almost no bitters followed though the chunks were active. I went back most the bitters were stalled even though the chunks seem to be loaded. I also noticed a lot of bitters fighting other bitters. I would report this as a bug but I don't know if this is just sadly how the AI breaks down when you start training 1000's of bitters?

'training' ? sounds like a Mod.

if you're using a Mod to do things you can't normally (like make Enemies into pets), then it's 50/50 at best of fault to the game and the Mod.
Factorio can't really adjust it's programming to fix bugs or problems that only occur with Mods. as that's a potentially infinite length list.

train = line of monsters pursuing you (from old MMORPGs)

Yes, the game has a strict limit to how much pathfinding is allocated to biters. If you wake up too many they will be unable to move.

Biters attacking biters is a bug, you should report it if you can find a reliable way to reproduce it.

I believe he just means agro'ing lots of biters and running away causing a "train" of biters to follow him, ie training biters.

Thanks the 2nd part is much rarer but sometimes after training big bases into other big bases and dozen more or so I go back they fighting sometimes not doing anything but standing still..

I also notice chunks sort of stay open their AI deciding what to do and kind of derps up.

When biter encounters an obstacle, it attacks it if cannot get around.
Maybe, they were blocking each other.

It kinda is. With the meaning of forming a "train" of biters.

I don't believe that you will find that definition in any dictionary.

You do - it is MMORPG slang. It also is used for some sexual practice. So, sorry, you do find it in SOME dictionaries.

But train is being used as a verb. In older MMOs a PvP/ganking tactic is to anger a pile of mobs, stroll across the map, and dump them onto another player. A player is meant to only fight 1 or 2 enemies at a time, so dumping a dozen on them is analogous to hitting someone with a train. You can see those players dragging a line of mobs behind them, further endorsing the train image.

Factorio players are already intimate with the concept of getting "trained". Choo choo!
