fade away the spine of a stream entity over it's duration

Any chance you could add the option to fade the spine of a steam so it could be hidden past the middle somehow.

Like here, I'm stuck with either the spine that look weird at the end of the stream in the top image.
Or I can hide the spine like in the bottom image, but the right part of the steam now look weird and I don't see any option to increase the number of particle there.

for some reason the particle_spawn_interval won't take a number with decimal, so 1 is the lowest you can go.
