[0.13.x] Resource distribution

The notes for 0.13 says that:
Map generator algorithm changed, further resource field now have greater richness.
I can see this for ores, if I go further away from my base, the amount of resources per tile seems to significantly increases. However for oil it seems that even the really far patches have only 30-40% yield, which makes a heavy game pretty hard. Am I just unlucky with these low yields, or is this a bug, and oil yield is not increased as I go further away?
