I am trying to create a track with 1 train with 2 engines. Automation doesnt work. It says no path. Can drive it no problem manually. Any advice?

Thinking out loud here:
Sure you have no problems with signals?
No missing pieces of track?
Are you giving orders to the first or the second loco? (Dunno if this matters, maybe it does)
Got the trainstop names right?

1) Stations are one-way and must be on the right relative to the train's direction of travel. If you want a train to back and forth on a single rail the stations have to be on opposite sides of the track.

2) Signals are one-way unless exactly paired and also must be on the right relative to the train's direction of travel. If you want two-way track the signals must be EXACTLY across from each other (the overlay should change when you are placing them like this to indicate you're making two-way track).

3) If you want a train to drive in both directions you need a locomotive at each end. You can manually drive trains backwards, but they will NOT auto-path like that.

If you're sure you can drive manually the whole way, take out the signals and then try (as long as it's just one train it'll be fine). If that works, put the signals back gradually until you find the problem.

I managed to make the two engine train work by placing 4 stations, 2 at each end.

Like they have always done, multiple engines increase the acceleration but not the topspeed of trains.

Not correct, they can increase speed if you have enough wagons behind them for the power of the 2nd locomotive to matter. a 1-4-0 train is slower than a 2-4-0 train for instance. The ideal ratio for 1-way trains is 1:2 locos to wagons. 2-way it's impossible to reach max top speed, but you can arbitrarily close with more locos for both directions. (Or...you can 'weight' the train heavy with locos for one direction so that it can go top speed in that direction only, but then, why not just go w/ 1-way locos and ditch 2-way all together?)
