I could research stack inserters without researching oil or plastics first,
but the recipe needs an advanced circuit (the red one), which needs advanced electronics, therefore plastics and therefore oil.

Shouldn't the stack inserter research depend on the advanced electronics research and so on?

One of the pre blue upgrades gives +1 to normal inserters. Honestly it should be the first, and the rest require said tech, but there is a reason.

I split the stack inserters into a new research that requires advanced electronics and logistics 2, this will also solve the problem of these being available in the campaign.
