I'm updating Aircraft, and I received a suggestion of putting a shield on one of the planes. I was wondering if that was possible to do? I've tried using the search function on the forums, and I haven't seen any other threads about this (which seems weird, you'd think this would've been a popular idea?)

In a simple way - no.
You could always try to simulate the relevant logic in lua, however.
