Well bacteriologic war is not very clean, ethical nor ecologic, and the Galactic Rights Council always pretended that it's baaaad... Ok, Ok.

But everybody know that it is efficient ! And as we are alone on this planet, no journalist will take any picture, so let's get dirty with these filthy aliens who are stepping in your potatoes fields ! ;-)

So, you know about these electric plugs against purple mosquitos that you let working all night long on planet Tatooine ?
Well, it's almost the same thing, just a little small step bigger...

Let me introduce to you Flytox : a new technology with diffusers that continuously spray a modified solid insecticide that slowly kills aliens approaching it at long distance. Nice to have some of them close to your walls : it saves some laser energy...

NOTES :
- 1 diffusor consumes 1 flytox cube every 60 seconds. With one single chemical plant, you can craft 400 cube per minute. So it should be enough to feed more than a hundreth of these devices. Then use your robots or belts to transport the insecticide...
- 1 diffusor has a range of 40m.
- 1 diffusor deals +5 poison damage per second to units and also to spawners, as an area damage.

Hello,
I think there is a bug. When I remove the diffusor it totaly vanish. I can't foud it on the floor or in my inventory. I use Factorio 0.13.6 and Flytox 1.0.0.

What a nice mod!
Could you visualize the effect by placing the toxic cloud around the "turret", the same as the poison cloud but less opaque?

Hi,
the spray radius is 40m... I tried to create a graphical cloud effect at the beginning, but with many flytox turrets, it became soon too invasive and cpu consuming...

What if you low the framecount down let's say 10 or even 100 times?

By "graphically invasive", I mean that it makes too many drawings on the map. It makes the map unreadable. And I like the map to be clear. By the way, as a modder, I cannot do anything that I want. I am not a dev. I just can exploit some existings effects. ;)

What if the cloud would be almost transperent, but it would clearly indicate what the heck is going on? :)

Update to new version. It tried to make something light.
For comfort, I added a flag in config.lua to enable or disable this cloud fx.
Tell me if you like it better.

Yes.
There was still a problem with diffusor still dealing damages if power cut. Please update to 1.0.4.
Now I handle this, and cloud is also managed accordingly, with a nicer soft animation.

No idea why, but after the latest update my flytox towers started damaging my laser towers. Anyone else getting this?

bug should be corrected, please update to 1.0.5 and tell me if it works better.
Now this nice new cloud itself do damage, and it was not properly defined.

So, im in a peaceful world and i REALLY messed up the alien base spawning.... i set it to a few MASSIVE bases when i wanted a good few small bases.... now i need a weapon to kill them off and not have them send a massive army towards me... will this cause the aliens to attack me (or the insecticide things?)

I do not really understand your question (I'm french speaker...).
If you are in peaceful mode, alien should not attack you.
But if you want to clean the suburbs of your factory, you can use my insecticide weapon. It creates a lethal zone, and aliens entering the zone are killed, wether they are peaceful or not :-)

Give it a try : make a backup of your game, install Flytox and try it.
