I'm not sure what username to use. My forums username certainly isn't the right one. Can anybody help please?

You need to use your factorio.com credentials.

It's the username and password of your Factorio.com account. You also need to have paid membership (from buying it from the website or connecting it to your steam account) to use the modding portal.

Hmm, I bought it from Steam. I don't think I have a factorio.com account.

Edit: I've registered at factorio.com now. The portal won't let me in because I have 'insufficient membership'.

Have you connected your factorio.com account with your steam account on the profile page (click on your name on the top right)?
If it still doesn't work, then
