So an idea ive had for factorio for the past two months. The main menu background, though recently being changed still feels flat and to be frank boring. What could be a welcoming greet to any new gamers is instead met with a Jpeg. I had the idea for as the background have game play of early - late game factories just ... doing their thing just have a factory producing whatever for as long as the player is on the main screen... i made kind of a teaser (sorry for my shoddy editing)

so you can imagine the factory running in the background as the player sets up their options and new game. there wont be just one recording of the same factory every time... that would get pretty boring. There could be multiple factories , oil refineries , logistic robots , train setups , biter attacks and Labs... these could be provided by the community as map files so the devs can easily update the graphics when the game updates. and apart from that thanks fro reading

Only read about half of it, but from what I understand... you basically want like Transport Tycoon Deluxe (and many other games), the main menu simulates a basic savegame of a simple factory layout.

yeah , basically i want the background to be like that of rollercoaster tycoon where you can see other parks and they run in the background

Roller Coaster Tycoon is basically the same engine as Transport Tycoon Deluxe, with a few enhancements, not to mention a total change of theme from transportation to theme parks. So it stands to reason that they both do the same thing.

I think that's the plan. I remember Cube asking about a mod that can work as a screensaver, homing to the most interesting parts of a factory...
