The funny thing about differentials is that I think I understand how they work, but at the same time think I don't understand how they work. They're glorious inventions, though. All types of gears and other mechanical princibles are awesome.

This is funny. I am currently in Engineering Technology, and currently we are in a gears unit. Last week we build these toys using gears and we had to incorporate a few different types it was pretty cool

I like watching old videos like those.
Transmissions are a bit different from that now.
Looks like back then they hadn't yet invented a clutch.
And some modern vehicles still don't have synchronized manual transmissions.
