I am assuming your belts are traveling either east or west, turning to the north, and you're realizing that the northernmost belt has fewer belt spaces than the southernmost belt.

What I'm not clear on is what you mean by "screws up my compression".

Screenshots would help a lot to try and understand your problem.

Sorry for the wait!
What game version do you have?
This looks like 0.11 since belt corners work properly in 0.12. I'd recommend updating to latest one.

I think the problem is that right before the turn you go through only one splitter, so basically you only have half throughput. Since you have a balancer right after the turn you don't need one before the turn, but if you want one before the turn make sure you do it right (you are missing the underground belt parts at least)

Belt's do not work "properly" in .12. They simply work differently. Inside items are given an odd speed boost rather than remaining even with their outside corner as the graphics imply. Here is a .12 test I did that proves this. Pay close attention to the arrows on the belt as they relate to the bullets on them.

The items on the inside have a shorter distance to travel, its not a "odd speed boost"

It is if the items themselves have no speed and sit atop a linked belt system. They can NEVER move faster than the belt itself. Each "link" in the belt will enter and leave the curve at the same moment...as will the items on top of it.

CRAZY how these boxes dont spin in circles cuz their inner side has a shorter distance to travel.
