i was wondering how you setup whitelist and admin stuff on a dedicated linux headless server?

No whitelist (or blacklist for that matter) and no admin in 0.12

IP filtering, not giving out the IP, or maybe they're not.

These things are planned to be addressed in 0.13 but no such systems exist in 0.12.

You could use my rcon tool... it has whitelist built in
