I was thinking about something. Am I the only one thinking it is weird that a man alone can make such a precise work as making rockets and all kind of advanced stuff ?

I think it would be cool if some of the object could only be assembled/crafted by assembling machines... This way you also have a reason to protect some vital ressources and equipment (and if you go RTS way, it is, I think, not such a bad idea :p).

We plan to have things that are craftable only in specialised machines in the future.

I agree, only the basic stuff should be hand-made in my opinion. And then add more tiers of assembling machines to do the work.
But that's a balancing feature, could be a mistake to implement it too soon imo.

I prefer hardcore way. Hero can construct e.g. assembling building only and that's it... everything else must be assembled/build/crafted through some other building or device. Iron or Copper plates can't be crafted by Hero too.

It opens possibilities to have some portable tool which can create some basic or limited things list. And of course there should be also some durability as we have for pickaxe.

I'm just rewriting the recipe structure so this will be easily possible to mod.
Basically, all recipes will be defined the same way, but every recipe has recipe-category.
Machines (and player and furnace) will have list of categories they can use.
So mod can add new recipe categories and machines that are specialised on certain categories.

I like the crafting ammo while on route.

But you could make it still an option in research. "Portable fabricator" perhaps.

Already implemented idea. Can be moved to the right subforum.
