Hi!

Since I just started playing Factorio, maybe I am doing something wrong... I am playing the first scenario in which I learn to use weapons. I built a sub-machinegun (additionally to the pistol) and also put in some magazines below the sub-machinegun's slot.... the pistol-slot and the magazine-slot beneath it have a green background (are active).... now I try to switch to the sub-machinegun by pressing the designated key (which is Q)... nothing happens.

I need to manually drag and drop the submachinegun to the first weapon-slot (the green one) in order to activate the weapon.

What am I doing wrong? Or is this a bug?

Switching with 'q' only switches between slots that have both weapon and ammo.
If you want to use more than one type of gun and be able to switch between them - make sure all of them have ammo (each gun should have ammo in the slot directly under it).

Edit: Sorry, I realize you said you already did so! In which case - perhaps your key-binding have changed. Or perhaps your key layout isn't what you think it is? In some layouts the "Q" key is in a different location.

The problem was, that the Q-key was assigned to multiple actions (by default!!!) ... this is a very minor bug... The "Controls"-settings menu does not notify me in any way if a multi-key assignment happens...
