i installed the game yesterday and it worked perfectly until today, started the game and got error message.
i've searched the internet and got nothing that could solved this problem, tried all the solutions from viewtopic.php?t=9300 and running as administrator.
i reinstalled the game and deleted everything from appdata manually and i still got this error

this is the error message i get, note the saves are automaticly downloaded by steam

As the error message already says, what we need is the log-file (https://wiki.factorio.com/index.php?title=Log_File for the steam installation its here: ...\steamapps\common\Factorio).

it does not exist, that's the problem

For the steam installation it is still in %appdata%\factorio
(usually C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Factorio)

Hm... I have only the steam installation and .zip packages and log-files on factorio start with steam get only created in ...\steamapps\common\Factorio, the user directory does not contain any log-files with this setup.

Pls show me the local files tab of factorio properties from the steam library.

Yes, try "Verify Integrity of game cache" if you did not already.

Ok, my assumption is that the log exists but does not get displayed for some reason, especially since other files are missing as well.
Try the following:

• create a new txt file in the \steamapps\common\Factorio directory (right click, new file...)
• rename that file to test.log
• accept the warning that this file might not work if changed
• refresh folder
• did it disappear ?

Try setting the contents of config-path.cfg (in F:\Program\Steam\steamapps\common\Factorio) to

Then I can't help you any more. I've moved this topic to open Bug Reports as you have posted it in Resolved Problems and Bugs, where the devs will probably not notice it.

well, just updated the grapic drivers and now it appears to work again, thanks for the help anyway
