after switching the game to german with a german keyboard on the Mac the games keyboard mapper still do not switch / exchanges the Z and Y in the key mapping options - thats where the english / german keyboard differs.

Let me check if I understand this correctly:
For example: You have english keyboard, you assign "shoot" to Z on the keyboard in-game. When you switch your keyboard layout to German, you want the game to modify the setting so "shoot" will be automatically assigned to Y, meaning the "shoot" button will be in the same place on the physical keyboard.
I'm afraid this is not how our key-mappings work. You should make your keybinds based on one keyboard layout. If you change keyboard layouts, it's your problem.

Yes - you misunderstood me - see the attachment.
Having a German keyboard and running Factorio in German language on a MacBook, wrongly the Y key shows up when I press the Z key in the keyboard manager instead taking over correctly the Z key.
Given its only a cometic fault (as one can set the keys correct without trouble) but it can easily ironed out.

We usually don't delete such stuff. Some "Bugs" are resolving themselves but they are resolved and that's what counts.
