Some misc questions

Hey folks, i've had this for a few days, and am really enjoying myself, with a few "issues" persay
1. I've found I either can make all available items in my inventory, or one per click, is there a way to make, say, five or ten at a time? if I want 50 pipes for example, I either have to click 50 times, or control click to make all that I have resources for then keep an eye on it..
2. I installed shadows megamodpack after getting the hang of the game, which is fun, but with all the intermittent items in different windows, it is all rather confusing and nonsensical, I'm going to disable a few, but is it a planned feature to have a "search" box in the build dialog to find what you are looking for? This was a feature in minecraft mods "eventually" which really helped newer players find what they were looking for.
3. The combat seems, erm, lacking. I basically walk up, and shoot while backing away, math dictates the winner, it looks like attacking bases before they start attacking me is the way to go, but the only way to do so is to creep up with turrets and slowly kill the buildings, which is pretty boring, does combat eventually "do" anything?
