so iv just bought the version on steam, went to start and i get a pop up saying : the game requires windows 7 sp1, current od :windows 7.

but i have windows 10.

iv tried compatibility mode, what else do i need to do to make this work... or am i better off asking for a refund?

Make sure you don't run Factorio.exe in compatibility mode for Windows 7 without Service Pack.
If that doesn't help, check if you run Steam.exe in compatiblity mode and if so, disable it or set it to different version of Windows.
To change compatibility, right click on the shortcut on desktop or in the start menu and go to Properties/Compatibility.

That's weird, I play it fine on windows 10.
