[0.12.24] [kovarex] new linux headless - desync every second

Trying to setup a dedicated headless server for my friends and I. Running no mods at all. Getting desyncs every second.

I don't know if that is the cause of it, but your --latency-ms is set far too high with 5000.
Try to set it to 100 or 200.

EDIT: if you're on LAN (as the IP in the log is 10.0.0.233), you can set it to 33.

It seems like the prototypes are modified on either the server or the client, are you sure there haven't been any modifications of the base files?

Try to redownload the game.

We are thinking of a auto check mechanism to prevent changes in the base game files in the future.

Based off your message I wanted to make sure nothing had been accidentally edited, went to downloaded factorio_demo_x64_0.12.24.tar.gz unarchived it. Started it up for the first time with 0 modifications then connected using the the steam client to connect and the same issue occurs.

You are trying to connect the full version of the game to the demo version? That is your problem, then. Of course, the game shouldn't allow that in the first place.

You can download the Linux headless package here. You probably downloaded the demo version instead of the headless version because they're in the same section of the page, which itsel is also rather unfortunate.

It shouldn't be even possible to play multiplayer in demo, we should just disallow it to avoid these problems.

Well, Technically I was not playing multiplayer, i was running the demo linux binary in server mode :P

Great that everything's working now.

For now, I've removed --start-server from the demo build to prevent further confusion.
