[Mac OS X Yosemite] Factorio won't start

Whenever I try to start Factorio (0.12.21), it says this:
(path)/factorio.app/Contents/data/core/locale/en/._core.cfg(1): '=' character not found in line
EDIT: The ._(name).(extension) files are encoded wrong

The filenames starting with dot are some of the garbage files created by mac. These can be safely removed. We made the game ignore files starting with dot when searching for locale files in version 0.12.22+
