First like to say delaying orbital platform was a good idea, if the base game is solid then follow-on items (games/mods/DLC) will be solid.
instead of building a rocket/shuttle an option to build housing for future colonies.
Each unit can be self contained or be tie into other units supplying water, food, electrical, data needs etc.

DLC is a BAD IDEA
Sorry to be blunt, but DLC is a bad idea. DLC is for AAA money-grabbing schemes. If Factorio releases an update so large that it is possible to be contained in DLC, It should be included in the game, and perhaps increasing the cost of the game. Paying once provides a much better gameplay experience then having to buy DLC to continue and fully "beat" the game.
Once excuse that people use to support DLC is "It gives me more way to give money to the developers". If you want to give money to the devs, you can donate. Even better, buy the game a gift it to a friend.
