Problem with Modinstallation

Hey,

as prefered I downloaded the Mods Zips but after starting factorio 0.12.17 it tells me that the info.json is missing.

This problem seems to occor if the packed mod contains the ModDir x2:

My_Some_Nice_Mod_v0.1.1.zip
--->My_Some_Nice_Mod_v0.1.1
------>My_Some_Nice_Mod_v0.1.1
--------->info.json

Was there a change since 0.12 so that this structure in a zip does not work anymore or is this
a still known/new bug?

Did that ever work? When was it working the last time? Also, why would you use such a structure with a duplicate directory? I wouldn't consider it a bug in Factorio if a mod is packaged incorrectly.

This was supposed in the Wiki where it's descriped how to build a Mod.
I agree with you that this is rly confusing but it seems that many mods are packed in that way :/ ...

The example in Modding overview looks fine to me. If a mod is broken tell the author about it.

It's a bug in your unzip program. You don't need to unzip mods at all. Or if you do, don't use Windows "Extract All..." menu.
