Has anyone considered changing the colors on the background of the tech tree icons? The green and yellow are so similar that when looking at prerequisites for for new research, I can't tell what is available and what is done.

(I tried searching for this, but I'm not sure if I used search effectively, so this may be a repeat.)

Are you colorblind? I think you can change it yourself using factoriofolder/data/core/graphics/gui.png

Not in the classical sense. I'm slightly color deficient in that I can't tell close shades of color apart, though. Someone else has also told me that he has difficulty telling those two apart as well, which I why I brought it up.

The yellow is too greenish brown for me to easily tell it apart from the green. A tad brighter yellow would work better.

In this, the yellow is a bit brighter. Replace the standard gui.png with this. Does this help? I can also darken the green or replace the colours with something completely different.

I must be blind. I don't see a difference between that gui.png and the original. Nor in game. I think the yellow I have problems with is one of the middle three on the second to bottom. Is just one of them used in the tech tree or all three used together, do you know?

The left is normal, the middle one is when you hover over the button, I think.
Alright, now I messed with the alpha channel. It's not pretty, but it should do it.
