How do I wake up my robots? I have my Roboports set, passive & request chest set. The robots went into the roboports and stayed.

which robots?
construction only put buildings and pick them up, things like belts inserters assembly machines, and they also repair pack
logistics are the type which can use the chests requester and provider to move things

^ This.
Also though, make sure the chests are actually in the Logistics Network (orange area), and that the Roboports are all connected to each other if you have more than one.
A screenshot would definitely help though.

Once robots are placed inside a roboport with energy, they're active. You assign them functions by using blueprints and logistic chests.
Construction bots work with blueprints, the deconstruction planner, and repair packs. They function primarily with yellow chests to grab construction goods and dismantle stuff. Yellow chests are the cornerstone of the network, so you should have a few of them placed down right away.
Logistic bots work with all the other chests. Blue chests MUST be given orders by opening them and using the middle logistic slots. Logistic bots will then draw resources from all the other colors to fill it. Purple chests will dump everything into blue or yellow chests until they are empty. Handy for a train drop off where you want to make room for the next train. Red chests store stuff until a blue chests wants it, making them the ideal option for finished goods.
The biggest chokepoint of a logistic network is having enough charging bays to keep everything moving. If your bots are badly lined up for energy, drop more roboports. Roboports have crazy storage and even 2 slots of busy bots can overwhelm the charging bays.
Bots that fail their task or dismantle something will throw items into a yellow chest. There is NO warning sign if all the yellow chests are full- the bots will sit around stupid. Make sure you have plenty of spare storage at all times.
