White Menu issue

My current OS is Linux Mint and this game has been installed using Wine.
When I launch the game all the menu is white, I get the background of factorio but the menu boxes are all white. the only thing I can do is log in as the only thing that appears is user entered text.
I've got this game to run on another PC but I'd like to run it on my more portable laptop. I twould have tried changing the resolution or go fullscreen but sadly I do not know of a keyboard shortcut currently for this OS and with the menu being white I cannot see a way to change them in the options either.

Love this game, its great!

-SilverCoin, thanks for your time :)

Any reason you're not using the Linux version?

Why did you use the Windows version (with Wine) when there's a build for linux available?

EDIT: prg was faster, the second time today :|

Because I'm a special snowflake!
Also, well I'm dead new to linux and I don't know how to use tar.gz files :( yet at least!
I've used wine on other OS but not on ubuntu and Debian. Running it as an exe was just easier (buuuut dysfunctional)

Kinda sad that popular linux desktops still don't have a built in unzipper. Anyway, try this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WM1bzV9S0kQ

That's supposed to be funny, right? In case anyone wonders, popular Linux desktops do have a built in unzipper. You just need to do something like right click -> extract to... or double click to open an archive manager thing and drag and drop the stuff you want to extract to where you want it to go. Using tar on the command line is admittedly not the most intuitive thing to do.
