Implementing a Router

Hello,

I would like to create a typical network orientation with Factorio.
Splitters are like HUB
Chest are like Queue
Belt are like uplink
MultiBelt are like Backbone.
packets are items transported

But I don't know how to implement a router.
Basically a router is use to forward packet to their destination.
But here packet are not aware of their destination.
So the destination must call for packet (like dynamic routing annunce)... I didn't know how to do it with Factorio.
We also can do more analogies like firewall.

What do you think about that ?

Routers are like logistic network.

Hum I don't think so, for me Logistic Network are like Wifi. Simple to use but you don't make production with it :p
More precisely, Logistic Network are nice to look but when it's done there is no much to do, you don't think so ?

Regards,

Smart inserter = router

Maybe you right, but we cannot automatically set the filter on the smart inserter.
I think that my need here.
I need to give Smart Inserter filtering information from the machines / needs behind it.

DisSsha, would you mind explaining what the different terms (HUB) etc. Mean? I know little about networking, but in my experience, learning the terms for different concepts makes it much easier to understand certain things. I am struggling with Factorio atm precisely because i have no knowledge of networks.

Yes, it is a bit sad that you can't change a smart inserter's filter.

But you can add many smart inserters with every possible filter.

For me it's still like logistic network (ok, not exactly, but the similarity is very high). Look at this to understand why:
