So I decided to take out my new tank for a spin against a small camp. Sadly, a cannon shot seems to only be worth one, and not more like other types of ammo so I ran out almost immediately and decided to run over everything.

I'm not sure though if that would still give me alien artifacts from destroying the spawners though?

Yes you get them still (auto loots). It's also better to run things over till you get upgraded turrets and yes I said turrets. I find the tank not worth the cannon shells or worth the piercing rounds. I use the tank instead at very low levels to run over / repair. Higher levels I use it to place maxed out turrets and take a beating on the tank...

The cannon is a joke compared to the destruction when running over stuff. The ammunition is too expensive compared to other ammunition.

For 0.13 the devs promised a rework of all the fight-elements.
