Just purchased game, Need tech help

I tested the demo on my system and it worked fine. I purchased the full game, after installing the full version the game is stuck on the taskbar and will not maximize. I know this is due to it being on a 2nd monitor which I don not have. So the trick that I was told to fix this is pressing alt+space + M then use arrow keys to move it to the primary or something of that nature. Pressing these key combinations did not fix the problem. Does anyone have any solutions to the issue I am having.

You could try playing with the preferred-screen-index setting in config.ini (it's in the config directory). If the setting doesn't exist, add it to the [graphics] section.

I went into the config.ini and changed it to 1 from 0. This didn't do anything on starting the game. It is still in minimized and stuck. I am not sure what value to put in the preferred_screen-index setting was 0 so logically I choose 1. I was playing with the alt space m option and I got it to pop up. thinking it was now good I quit the game and re launched and it is still stuck.

also I am working with WIN 8.1

ok, here is an update for you and this may be something others are experiencing or design issue.
I ran compatibility mode from the shortcut settings this forced the program to appear on screen but what I was getting was the bottom right corner of the game forced up to the top left of my desktop, I then can resize it by stretching it around the desktop to suit my where I want it to be. This is all in windowed mode, If I want to use full screen setting inside game it then forces the game to disappear and go back to being stuck on taskbar. closing the game and reopening puts it back up in the corner as stated before then I resize again. so game is working but I have to resize everytime I want to launch it.

Why do you even have two screen configured in windows if you only have one screen? Can't you simply disable that extra screen in Windows?

I have the same problems on my laptop. When I have an external monitor connected and my laptop screen disabled, the Factorio window never comes up.
It was supposed to be fixed in one of the 11.x patches I believe, but the issue was never resovled.The preferred monitor setting didn't do the trick either.

Might want to put in another bug report then, providing thorough descriptions of your configuration and the problems you're having.

There is already a bug report here: https://forums.factorio.com/forum/vie ... 2&start=10 and we need someone to provide a log file for it, it seems :-)
